The planned removal of the Store, Platinum and other monetization systems in Quake Champions 1.31 raises a question about one of the game's existing paid features – changing an in-game nickname.

Currently, players can change their nickname using an Account Rename Token purchased through the in-game Store. When a player in the official Quake Discord asked SyncError how nicknames would be changed once the Store is gone, he gave a short answer:
Change it now if you're interested.
No replacement system has been announced yet, so it remains unclear whether nickname changes will disappear entirely or return in another form after the 1.31 changes are introduced.
