The Evillair Jam follows the Redux concept used by the two communities earlier this year: participants take an existing map and completely overhaul its visuals while keeping the raw layout intact. The first Redux Jam, held in July, resulted in three remakes from IoriDyson, Obsessed and DetroHogga.
For the new event, evillair has returned to Quake III Arena texture work and created two brand-new sets specifically for the jam. eBloodworks and eCrucible were made using modern tools including Blender, Substance Painter and Photoshop while retaining the old-school Quake 3 style. eBloodworks is based in part on evillair's earlier Quake 4 work, while eCrucible is a dark gothic set with blue metal accents loosely inspired by Quake Champions. Both sets can be downloaded from his official texture page.
IoriDyson, formerly known as fKd, has already produced showcase remakes of Battle zone and The Garden using the new texture sets. The maps will be made available for playtesting through Map-Center.

The rules follow the established Redux format: participants can decompile an original map and use it as a base or rebuild it from scratch, but its core layout must remain intact. For texturing, only sets created by evillair may be used, either individually or in combination, although additional skyboxes and models are allowed.

The Evillair Jam runs from October 30 through November 15, followed by a public playtesting period. Participants must submit the .map and .bsp files together with a .txt readme, and the organizers have stated that the deadline will not be extended.
