Tim Willits revealed a few additional details on the Quake Champions Duel and Sacrifice modes in his latest interview with Pocket-lint.

Regarding duels, you will be able to lock in three different champions for the duration of the match. Meanwhile Sacrifice has also been completely revamped. Now you'll have to activate the points instead of holding them, to get more points for frags. On top of that a new mode was been announced, however, other than the announcement itself there is no information on what the mode could be. Most of community are cheering for Capture the Flag.

"Our current Duel mode allows you to bring three champions into the match, so you need to figure out which ones will work best. Like, for instance, Galena is better in team game modes, I believe, than 1v1. But then I had an argument with one of our programmers who said: 'No, no, no: you can use her offensively in 1v1, and if you play her like this, you'll have an advantage.'"

Judging by the recent tweet by Quake Champions it seems that the closed beta is just around the corner, with the tweet stating it's "fast approaching." A word of advice: create an account on Bethesda page to reserve your nickname as it's possible that the closed beta won't be on Steam.
