After a grueling running of the gauntlet the first DirtyCups.gg "Proving Grounds" tournament wrapped up with one team standing above all the others as the sole winner. Departing from their typical format, this tournament was aimed at pitting young, and upcoming teams against each other, with the big boys such as Planetkey Dynamics, and Zero Five Zero, watching from the sidelines, assessing the quality of competition which they may be facing in the next few tournaments.

It was an exciting tournament, with the American team Amazin Like Raisins (featuring British stand-in Dreo) bullying their way to the finals from one side of the bracket, sweeping Interior Designers handily in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, on the other side of the bracket, another American team were also making waves, as Fish took down the much hyped return of the storied 20ID team, 2-0 in their semi-finals, in a contest which can only be described as one-sided. With those matches complete, the consolation finals featured a bit of a disappointing finish, after 20ID took Bridge from Interior Designers, one of their players had to leave, giving 20ID the third place trophy.

The anticipation for the finals were that we would see a series of very closely played games, but Amazin Like Raisins really showed off their form taking out Fish in 2-0, on Trainyard, and Underground comfortably crowning themselves as the first Proving Grounds Champion.
