Quake has arrived in Telegram. An independent developer has released a playable version of the first episode of id Software’s legendary shooter directly inside the messenger. The project is based on Qwasm, but the author reports that he fixed critical bugs, reworked the broken audio and created a new mobile control scheme from scratch — making touch controls as comfortable as possible. Naturally, the game also integrates with Telegram itself.

Features:
  • Runs on almost any device
  • Fullscreen mode support
  • Savegame support

This is the official shareware version of Quake, which provides access to the entire first episode (seven levels, one secret level and a boss fight). The game can be played here: icon_telegram @tgquake_bot

The author notes that this is a personal technology experiment, free of ads, registration or paywalls. He also thanks his DosZone Team for testing support.

Earlier this year, the same developer presented a multiplayer browser version of Quake II, which we covered here.
