After the launch of CPMA 1.50 & CNQ3 1.49, January is shaping up nicely in terms of competitions. With a bunch of events coming up in a hurry, I thought it'd be easier to lump them altogether in one post instead of creating multiple (separate) posts. This should give you the run down on what's happened recently, and what's planned for the upcoming weeks in terms of events. The planned cups should cover players from all skill levels and pretty much all regions.

The year begins with the conclusion of the second season of the gLeagues ladder. This season was 2V2 and it featured a decent amount of teams with fairly competitive games. Sadly due some scheduling issues a full play-off bracket was not rolled out, and instead the finals were a best of five featuring the top two teams from the ladder. The finale had a total of 100 USD on the line, with the winner receiving 60 USD, and the losing team receiving 40 USD. You check out the full season results by checking out the gLeagues Season 2 Tournament Page.

Players can look forward to the next season of the gLeagues ladder, which will be reverting to 1V1 for season 3.

The first open cup of the year will take place on Saturday January 27, 2018 with things kicking off at 17:00 UTC, and check-in starting off an hour prior to that. We're hoping we'll get to see many of the heavy weights in the game duke it out for the first tournament victory of 2018. Much like the other scheduled cups, maps will be pre-determined by round. This cup will use a very familiar double elimination format with BO3 upper bracket, BO1 lower bracket, and BO5 grand final.
